About the course

Founded in 1891 by members of nearby Hoylake, Wallasey is a classic links course laid out by Old Tom Morris and refined over the decades by champions including Sandy Herd, Harold Hilton, James Braid, and the Hawtree–J H Taylor partnership. The club has hosted Open Championship qualifiers on four occasions and retains a portrait of Bobby Jones, who qualified here during his 1930 Grand Slam campaign.
