Established in 1906, Southport and Ainsdale is a championship links course winding through coastal dunes, gorse and heathland on England's Golf Coast. The club's prestige stems partly from hosting the Ryder Cup in 1933 and 1937, and from its continuing role as a regular venue for R&A amateur and professional tournaments, most recently The Amateur Championship in 2023. Its Braid-designed layout delivers a challenging yet fair test that varies with the coastal sea breeze, and remains regularly ranked amongst the UK's finest courses.
