Founded in 1903, Walton Heath operates two championship heathland courses in Surrey, both ranking among the UK and Ireland's top fifty. The Old Course, designed by Herbert Fowler and consistently ranked in the world's top hundred since 1938, rewards a full repertoire of shots across barely tamed heathland, while the New Course, also Fowler's design and opened to eighteen holes in 1913, presents a contrasting challenge with strategic cross hazards. The club's storied past includes Edward VIII as its first captain and Winston Churchill as a regular player, and it has hosted the Ryder Cup and major women's championships.
