About the course
Nine-hole parkland course founded in 1891 alongside the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation with eighteen separate teeing grounds.
A brief history
Maldon Golf Club was founded in 1891, making it one of the oldest established clubs in the county. The course sits alongside the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation, the historic inland waterway that runs from Chelmsford down to the Blackwater estuary, giving the layout a distinctive waterside character. The nine-hole layout with eighteen separate teeing grounds gives players a proper eighteen-hole experience when playing two loops, a routing approach common in older clubs of this era. The club has maintained a steady members' identity throughout more than 130 years of continuous play.
