Gosforth Golf Club, affectionately known as 'the Bridlepath' after the path that divides the course, sits in a secluded suburban setting just north of Newcastle. The 18-hole course is noted for its mix of challenging and interesting holes, level terrain, and a formidable closing par four that ranks among the region's toughest finishing holes; the club has nurtured several notable players including an English Amateur Champion and the inaugural Women's British Open winner.
