Founded in 1896 on farmland at The Sands, Farnham has hosted golfing royalty including the Great Triumvirate and South African legends Bobby Locke and Gary Player. The 18-hole course was designed by Open Champion Jack White and formally opened in 1905 with an exhibition match featuring James Braid and Harry Vardon; having weathered two World Wars and recovered from a 1987 storm, it remains member-owned and welcoming to experienced visitors.
