Founded in 1890 and designed by J.H. Taylor, York Golf Club is a heathland course set across 60 acres of rolling Yorkshire countryside five miles north of the city. The layout features over 150 bunkers and strategic plantings of birch, with its iconic par-3 7th playing boldly across water; recent course development has included bunker reshaping, new tees, and the introduction of thousands of heather plants to enhance its character and challenge.
