Whitburn Golf Club was founded in 1931 and designed by Harry Colt, opening for play in 1933. The 18-hole par 70 course of 6,013 yards sits dramatically above North Sea cliffs between South Shields and Sunderland, offering panoramic coastal views across the North East. Built on a natural limestone base with exceptional drainage, it remains playable year-round and recently underwent substantial renovation including 31 new bunkers and lengthened holes.
