Perched at 1,000 feet on Golfa Hill above Welshpool, this James Braid design commands sweeping views across Mid Wales, Shropshire, and Snowdonia. The 18-hole course, established in 1894, winds across undulating fairways whose natural contours deliver a rewarding challenge; the signature 12th hole, Darwin's Dream, plunges hundreds of feet before doglegging steeply uphill to a raised green. Strong drainage allows year-round play, and the welcoming clubhouse serves locally sourced food with countryside views.
