Founded in 1897 on the edge of Epping Forest, an undulating eighteen-hole heathland course with mature trees and wildlife throughout.
A brief history
Theydon Bois Golf Club was founded in 1897, one of the oldest established clubs on the Essex-London border. The course sits on the edge of Epping Forest, one of the largest surviving stretches of ancient woodland in southern England, and the heathland character of the land has given the course a distinctive feel since its earliest days. Over more than 125 years the layout has matured under the canopy of forest oak and silver birch, and the club has retained its traditional members' identity throughout. The Theydon Bois village itself has long been a desirable commuter spot at the end of the Central line.
