South Moor is a heathland course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie during his 1925 visit, following a chance meeting during the First World War. The course, officially opened in 1924 and one of only 40 heathland layouts in the UK, winds through gorse, heather and birch, featuring MacKenzie's trademark large, undulating greens that demand precision and finesse from players of all levels.
