Founded in 1903 as a three-hole layout and expanded to eighteen holes in 1907 by Willie Park, this South East London parkland course occupies commanding slopes with views across North Kent. Remodelled by Harris and Colt in the 1930s, it demands precision and strategy through natural elevation changes and demanding greens, notably its 'Amen Corner' at holes 9–11, and remains only two miles from central London.
