About the course
Private members club founded in 1894 and designed by Open Champion James Braid, set in mature parkland at Gidea Park.
A brief history
Romford Golf Club was founded in 1894 and the course was designed by James Braid, five-time Open champion and one of the most prolific architects in early twentieth-century British golf. The course sits in mature parkland at Gidea Park, an area which has long been one of the more established suburbs of east London. As a private members' club with deep Essex roots, Romford has maintained its traditional culture and the course routing remains close to Braid's original design. The club has produced county players over its long history and remains an active competition venue.
