Northampton Golf Club's 18-hole championship course, opened in 1990 on the Althorp Estate and designed by Donald Steele, plays to 6,515 yards with a par of 72. The layout features mature woodland on the opening holes and estate land throughout, culminating in a demanding finish around an ornamental lake; the course is regarded as one of the best tests in Northamptonshire.
