Founded in 1890 on Whitley links and redesigned to 18 holes by 1912 Open Champion Ted Ray, Whitley Bay remains one of the North East's finest courses. Its undulating terrain blends parkland and heathland characteristics, with fast, true greens and challenging bunkering, and has attracted legendary names including Vardon, Braid, Trevino and Norman over its storied history.
