About the course

Stockport Golf Club, founded in 1905, features an 18-hole layout primarily designed by Sandy Herd, the 1902 Open Champion, set in rural woodland near the Derbyshire and Cheshire border. The course has hosted distinguished visitors including Harry Vardon and James Braid, and in 1929 welcomed the American Ryder Cup team for an exhibition match; today it remains highly regarded across the North West for its championship-standard presentation and strong hospitality.
