Parkstone is a heathland course founded in 1909 by Lord Wimborne and designed by Scottish golfer Willie Park Jnr on undulating sandy land in the Luscombe Valley near Poole. The original layout was substantially reshaped in 1932 by James Braid, and more recently improved by Martin Hawtree; tree clearance in accordance with SSSI designation has restored open views across the course and to Poole Harbour. Now ranked in the top 100 courses in Great Britain and Ireland, it commands respect for its natural terrain and challenging blind shots.
