About the course

Founded in 1909, Moortown is a championship heathland course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie on 175 acres of dramatic lowland heath near Leeds. The club gained worldwide recognition as host of the first Ryder Cup on British soil in 1929, and retains much of its original strategic character, with firm fairways, heather-lined corridors and subtly contoured greens that emphasise precise play over distance.
