About the course

Founded in 1893 by London barristers, Woking is Surrey's oldest heathland course and a pivotal reference point in golf architecture. Reshaped in the early twentieth century by members John Low and Stuart Paton, their strategic innovations, notably central fairway bunkers, helped move the game away from penal design. The course rewards judgement over power, with fast-running fairways and demanding greens that have tested amateurs and professionals alike for over 125 years.
