Founded in 1885, Hesketh is Southport's oldest golf club and has hosted significant championships including The Open Regional Qualifying and the Amateur Championship. Designed by George Lowe and James Braid, the course splits between dunes and the Ribble Estuary, offering a demanding test that has produced tour professionals and counted Henry Cotton among its notable golfers.
Layout & location
Setting. Set among Victorian villas of Churchtown, bordering a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. Half the holes weave through dunes, the rest run alongside the Ribble Estuary.
