About the course

Great Harwood Golf Club was established in January 1896 and moved to its present site at Harwood Bar in October 1927, where the eighteen-hole course was designed and laid out by F. Palmer and opened in July 1928. The club has hosted notable visitors including Open Champion Alf Padgham, who played an exhibition match in 1936, and has produced accomplished golfers such as Gary Hindle, selected for England Boys in 1975.
