About the course

Furness is England's third-oldest links course, founded in 1872 by Scottish migrant workers and reopened in 1916 by Harry Vardon himself. Spread across Walney Island on the Furness peninsula, it commands striking views across the Irish Sea towards the Isle of Man, with the Lakeland hills rising inland, and offers a genuine links challenge shaped by the prevailing westerly wind.
