Howard Swan-designed parkland course running through the Colne Valley near Earls Colne, measuring 6,286 yards.
A brief history
Colne Valley Golf Club opened in 1989, designed by Howard Swan, a Suffolk-based golf course architect responsible for many parkland layouts across the east of England. The course was developed on land in the Colne Valley near Earls Colne during the late-1980s wave of new parkland golf construction that swept through Essex and East Anglia. The setting along the River Colne gave the architect natural features to work with, and the course has matured into a settled parkland venue with a steady local membership and a strong reputation for accessibility and value.
