Henry Cotton-designed 6,706-yard parkland course in the heart of Harlow, regularly hosting county and regional competitions.
A brief history
Canons Brook Golf Club was founded in 1964, with the course designed by three-time Open champion Henry Cotton. It is one of two Cotton designs in Essex, the other being Abridge, and the two are often compared as the finest examples of his architectural work in the county. The course was built as part of the wider Harlow new-town development that reshaped this corner of Essex in the post-war decades. Canons Brook has hosted Essex county events and regional qualifying tournaments for many years and remains a strong members' club with an active competition calendar.
