Blackley Golf Club was founded in 1907 on boggy Manchester farmland by a group of determined enthusiasts led by architect Fred Johnson, who engineered its transformation from nine holes to an 18-hole course by 1922. Relocated to White Moss Farm in 1937 after development reclaimed the original site, the club has maintained a reputation for welcoming visitors whilst fostering a strong social membership tradition and commitment to local charity.
