Why Golf Course Tour Videos are changing the way golfers discover new courses

For years, golfers searching for somewhere new to play have relied on review websites. Star ratings, written comments and a handful of photographs have become the standard way of judging whether a course is worth visiting.

The problem is that golf is an incredibly visual sport.

A review might tell you that a course is in excellent condition or that the greens are challenging, but it rarely answers the questions golfers really want to know before booking a tee time. What does the opening hole actually look like? How wide are the fairways? How does the clubhouse feel? What are the views like? Is it a course you'll genuinely enjoy spending four or five hours playing?

Golfers Want to See a Course Before They Book

Today's golfers increasingly expect to see a destination before they visit it. Whether booking a holiday, choosing a restaurant or buying a car, video has become the most trusted way to understand what an experience is really like. Golf is beginning to follow the same trend.

Course tour videos provide something that reviews simply cannot. They allow golfers to experience the character of a course before they arrive, giving a genuine feel for its layout, surroundings and atmosphere. Rather than relying solely on someone else's opinion, players can make their own judgement based on what they see.

This shift is one of the reasons Work Less Golf More was created.

The ambition is straightforward but significant. To create the UK's first comprehensive visual golf directory by recording every golf course across the country. Instead of listing clubs with static images and reviews alone, the platform aims to give golfers an authentic video tour that helps them discover courses they may never have considered.

The project is already off to a strong start, with hundreds of golf clubs and articles now available as the directory continues to grow. As more courses are added, golfers will be able to explore the UK course by course, making it easier than ever to find hidden gems, compare venues and plan their next round.

Reviews will always have their place, but the future of golf discovery is likely to be far more visual. As expectations continue to evolve, golfers will increasingly want to see a course before they play it.

Work Less Golf More is building that future, one golf course at a time.
